Working with passion

Filed in Blog
This morning I read this article on Duct Tape Marketing about working your passion. The book he refers to, The 4-Hour Workweek, deals with alternative lifestyles in work and using the time saved to induldge in one’s passion.

John Jantsch has a different take on the book. Sure, one could work four hours a week (it’s a catchy title). But the important part is that one can work more if one loves it–if work is the passion.

And that suits me fine, because I love what I do. I love being an apprentice freelance writer and an author and a blogger. I would be delighted to spend more time on these activiities because they fulfil a passion for me–the passion of writing. Right now they don’t earn me enough income to do that, but I don’t think that’s beyond the realms of possibility.

I believe that we should all be doing the things that we love, because otherwise, we are just wage slaves. That is not what life is for.

So there you go. Enjoy the article. Duct Tape Marketing’s home page is here.

I am very lucky to be able to do what I love and (for the most part) pay the bills. Things will be easier when my husband finishes his PhD. I love telecommuting.
