Don picked up Silver and took her outside. In the campground back in Lodi, she really seems to hate that and yowls so ardently that we bring her back in immediately lest we be accused of cat torture. Here, she perked up, made a few half-hearted complaints, then started looking at stuff. So, I put her in the harness and of her own accord she took me for a walk around the neighborhood. After two circuits of the rig, though she decided that enough was enough.

Then we took JR. JR spent the first two years of his life outside, and is quite without fear. Unfortunately he headed for the underside of the rig, did a backflip, and was suddenly free of his harness. Oops. He then did what cats are wont to do–got up high. In this case it was the differential, quite probably the greasiest thing under there, that acted as his perch. Anyway, I got under the rig and guarded his butt while Don got under the rig and scruffed him out of there.

After that, I was persona non grata for some reason. I about wet myself laughing when I saw him glaring at me through the screen door and the minute I said “Hi JR” he issued forth a long, quite purposeful hiss.

His big sulk lasted until he was hungry again. ;)
