Hello. I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth though it’s very likely that I have melted. And if I haven’t melted, maybe my motorpickle has because BOY, it’s 104 degrees right now and I can’t deal with that at all.

So, apparently it’s already a hundred degrees by ten in the morning around here. And around here is somewhat close to Las Vegas but not there yet. I’m hoping that tomorrow I can make a loop down the side of Lake Meade and then hide in a motel from about 9 o’clock, 10 o’clock when I get there, down to the city.

And I am already decided that, I’m pretty much decided on abandoning all hope of seeking markers south of here because it’s just impossible. I can’t deal.

But that’s okay. I have other more interesting things to do, like attend a wedding and meet a friend which I’m very much looking forward to doing. So, maybe we shall go to the Liberace Museum or something fun like that. We’ll find out.

I’ve seen some brilliant places the last few days. I can say that the extra terrestrial highway and US 93 north of there is among the prettiest and best roads I’ve seen since I set out 3 weeks ago, really really attractive and quite friendly people and neat little old towns. I’ve been having quite fun.

And then by accident, I discovered a pioneer graveyard this morning and also a local state park that, if you’ve ever seen stalectites and stalegnites in a cave, well imagine those in a gorge like on a huge scale. They’re not made that way but that’s just what they look like and there’s just a whole gorge full of the things. It’s quite bizarre. If you want to google it, in the absence of me posting a link, look for Cathedral Gorge State Park and you’ll find it. It was really cool. So, yeah.

I got my 100th historical marker this morning or maybe this afternoon, I don’t know. I crossed the original boundary, southern boundary of the State. The 37th parallel for GPS unit geeks like me, for example and right now I’m recovering from a pretty unpleasant ride (cut off … apparently she ran out of time?)
