Voice Post: Charleston

Hi, there.

I have no idea really where I am. Other than I think I must be at the Battery, because all I see ahead of me is water. So somehow I crossed over Broad Street. It doesn’t really matter because it’s pretty here.

Oh, I know exactly where I am. I’m at White Point Gardens. Okay. Gee, Broad Street wasn’t very broad then. I’m going to walk through the gardens, and I’m going to go up to Meeting Street and to the next stretch of historic downtown Charleston. Because I’ve just seen about ten million plaques, and I bet I can find ten million more plaques, and all the beautiful buildings, and wonderful little gardens, and little (doggies?), and all sorts of neat stuff.

I’m having the time of my life, I really am. It’s great. I’ve just found a nice ornate little English seafront-type bench to sit on and rest my increasingly sore feet. My feet are angry with me, I can assure you of that.

I also found a cute little water fountain, which means I’m not thirsty anymore. Which is good, because it’s warmer here. They told me it would be warm, but we had a thunderstorm last night and real, genuine lightning. I didn’t know what the weather was going to do today, but warm is apparently it.

So that’s my update. I’m still trying to connect with some of the other Bookcrossers at large, and I’m leaving books all over the place. I may meet someone for lunch, if I can actually arrange to find them. And if not, then I’m going to have to find lunch all by myself, which I’m sure I can manage.

Yeah, I’m having great fun. Met some wonderful people last night. Over and out, and I’ll update you later. And in case you can’t tell, I’m really a lot better at writing than I am speaking.
