Hello campers! I’ve made it safely to Carson City by accident. I was actually planning to stop at Stateline because my wrists were screaming at me, but instead I couldn’t find, well, ??? motels, but none on my side of the road, and I didn’t want to stay at Harrah’s for some obscure reason. So I kept going, and ended up in Carson City!

So I’m now two snarfs into my Quest. Woohoo! I have two state – I actually saw a third one, but it was in the opposite direction, and you don’t want to do a U-turn on the fast part of US 50. So, I’ll know where it is for the return.

Hrm, what else can I tell you I’m actually a little bit mad at myself because I’m tired and pulled into the first known quantity I saw, which was a Motel 6, and as soon as I signed on the dotted line, I turned around and saw another hotel next door with the same price and free wireless. So I kinda shot myself in the foot; I probably can’t get online tonight, hence the voice post, which I’m sure some of you won’t complain about.

The ride down was lovely. I ??? myself rather well, to say that I was rather tired. I stopped and took some serious breaks this time; it made a huge difference. Half-hour breaks, walking around, stretching , stuff like that. The Camelbak helps, though I have yet to master the technique of keeping the mouthpiece actually inside my helmet. So I guess I’m that mad biker who’s riding around with a blue thing thwacking behind her merrily waving at all the other motorists.

Anyway, this is more than enough information to send out. I’m tired, I’m going to look at my maps, and call Don, and find out where I’m going tomorrow. I think I’m going to revise my Quest to find 200 historical markers because it’s feeling a little too contrived. I’m just going to go with the flow. If I get half of them, then cool, I can come back and do this again some other time. *laughs* Gee, that’s going to be a hardship – it’s really, really quite nice here. Oh, and I didn’t die of heat, so I guess I’m OK.

So the general aim is to get down to Tonopah tomorrow, but we’ll see. We’ll take that as it comes. OK, well, have fun, oh happy campers at LiveJournal and beyond! And maybe I’ll actually have internet connectivity tomorrow night, but I’m not holding my breath. Bye!
