(burbling waterfall sounds) OK, I couldn’t hear a tone at all, so I don’t even know if this is posting but I’m just going to jabber away happily to myself, and to anyone who’s listening.

I just pulled into a gas station in El Rude Dorado (???), and that means that I’ve taken Highway 50, which means that I’m on a road that I’ve never travelled solo before, which is kind of neat.

It would appear that I set out tired this morning so I don’t know that I’m going to get much further than state line Nevada, which is sort of poetic in any case, umm, just over the border. Or maybe I’ll just schlep myself into Lake Tahoe and wander around being a tourist for a while. Anyway, that part doesn’t matter.

I’m less than a hundred miles from southwest Lake Tahoe, which means I’m probably going to hit it round about rush hour which is fun, but we’ll see.

And I’m having fun. My camelback is useful; I haven’t quite figured out how to actually drink while riding - but, details, details.

Camelback, in case anyone’s trying to ????? that, that’s C-A-M-E-L like the animal B-A-K. It’s a hydration device for strange people who like to go out in the sunshine.

So, that’s my status. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get online or anything tonight, so I’ll get this sent and catch up with you all later.
