So, here’s an update

We had to pick JR up before 8 this morning. We almost didn’t make it because of my sudden (and violent) onset “bathroom difficulties.” I think my body is unable to digest mac & cheese, as this is the second time in a row that mac & cheese has been followed by illness.

We got to the vet and they gave us $188 back. They also told us that we were supposed to go to a vet and have him observed another day to see whether he was peeing or not, and also that we needed to get the prescription food. Huh? The vet on Saturday (same location) had told us that the prescription food wouldn’t help, and we were to feed Fancy Feast instead. We just picked up a 24 pack of the stuff.

So, three sets of different feeding instructions from two different vets. Great. I’m going to call the original doc this evening and confirm.

We do not have JR at a vet. Right now he is chilling out in his cage after stuffing his face on Fancy Feast. We had to fight the girls off. ;)

He has an empty bladder at this time and the litter box is right here. We can figure out whether he’s peeing or not. If he isn’t, then we take him to have another catheter put in and start this whole game all over again. (Guess what? Despite his collar he pulled his catheter out again–but probably only in the last hour before we collected him. But that’s okay. It was due to be taken out anyway.)
