Getting things done

Today was kind of fun. The book contest made it to The Contest Blogger and thus the little squareses have been full of new faces and icons. There are still a few days to enter to win some books. What’ve you got to lose apart from a large number of hours reading some good books?

I think I’m done with the new design. Today I managed to get archives into the sidebar, in a drop-down list. The javascript archive didn’t do it for me and is now history, but I couldn’t make an archival page work, either. I got the randomly generated banner program working but had to walk away from it first to find the bug. Oh, and I added back categories and there was something else too but I can’t find that post-it note. It’s probably under the cat. Everything else is. I think she’s trying to lay an egg or something.

I decided to take out the Google ads. They really don’t earn a great deal, and with the sponsored posts and Amazon that is enough monetization. People keep telling me how wonderful Text Link Ads are but they’ve failed to approve my blog in over a month and don’t bother to answer their emails, either. I don’t think they’re all that.

I’m toying with the idea of selling ads here–traffic is getting up–but that can wait. I’m quite fond of the additional white space.
