Thursday Thirteen: #12–13 Nicknames I have had.
Filed in Blog
- Looby Lou. This was from a kid’s TV series called Andy Pandy back when TV kids’ characters didn’t need lasers, guns, or action. This was a famly name. Nobody else is allowed to call me that and if you do I shall be forced to digest you. Slowly.
- Lindy, Lindy Lou, Lindypops. Affectionate family/friends names.
- Morph. With my name being Moore, it was obviously appropriate to stick “ph” and turn me into a small modeling clay guy with a high-pitched voice.
- Moorey. A more boring, and standard, version. British school kids–no imagination. Bah.
- Fatty. Because some kids are bastards.
- Leeana the Muddy. I played a magic-user called Leeana during a live roleplaying adventure. At the end I was told I could give myself an honorific, like Leeana the Great. Since the game took place in the English Lake District in November, I chose The Muddy. I use to draw cartoons about her and in fact did a series of “where am I” doorplates at university for myself and my friends featuring Leeana and variants.
- Getafix. My first ever online handle.
- Moonflower, Moonbeam, Moon(variants)–I can’t remember them all. Moon-something was my MUD character at university. I kept getting killed. ;)
- Buttercup. One of my friends at college must’ve thought I was a cow. ;)
- Evel Knievel. The name I was given during my compulsory bike training (parking lot lesson). I had so much fun and so little fear that they gave me that name.
- Terminator. This was what I got after taking lessons for a while. I wrecked two poor little Honda 125s.
- White Raven. A name I gave myself in the 90s and which I’ve had ever since. It started with wanting to be a raven, but I thought that I was too blonde. Blonde Raven didn’t fit, so I chose White Raven. The name started as a joke, but has developed in ways I didn’t expect.
- Biker Babe. Apparently, this is what my bosses are now calling me. ;)

Well, most of those beat Nanny Goat, which I was taunted with through elementary school. :) Great idea for a TT!

This is interesting and unusual. I don’t know if I could come up with 13 nicknames–hmm–maybe I should think about that!

Those aren’t bad nicknames. They are definitely better than the ones I had — although fatty?
I bet those kids grew up and wonder why they’re not happier.

I thought about doing this same theme this week but I couldn’t come up with but 6 nicknames. I think I’ll always like “Little Red-headed Girl” best.
Very cool that you did RPGs too. Always good to find kindred spirits. :)

Judy…I had to think about it for a while, too. ;) Picked up a new one last week after working the Christmas stock: Glitter Girl.
