Thursday 22nd September
Filed in Britain 2005 (2), TravelThough I had a sticky patch in the middle of the night when I wasn’t sleepy and was therefore not asleep, I had a good night, and was up a tad until 13 hours after I collapsed into bed. I am not sure how, but my toiletry bag and a long-sleeved shirt never made it over here, so we went into Inverness for a number of things. I got to take a look at Lush, which is lucious, but I need a proper explore when I’m more in the mood. Today was about getting things I needed: a box to mail things in, some shampoo, a brush, toothbrush kit, etc.
My feet are still sore and my body is still stiff. I’ve been stretching, and keeping moving.
We did grocery shopping, came back for lunch, then went down into Dingwall for a bit more shopping. Dingwall’s Gaelic name is Inbhir Pheorain (may be spelt wrong) which makes me scratch my head. Most of them bear at least some resemblance to the English translation, but not this one.
I’ve tidied my room up (i.e. made suitable piles) and am shortly going to settle into reading a book. Oh, and I got my mobile phone sorted out. My friend M. sent me a more up to date one that was no longer being used, and I had to jump through moderate numbers of hoops to get it set up. Apprently one has to make a call every 6 months to keep it active. The staff in the shop assumed a lot of knowledge on my part that I didn’t have, and it was a bit puzzling. Only after I searched the website did I understand what they were on about with their vouchers and packets and stuff.
I’ve been having fun with text messages, too. I feel like a kid with a new toy. ;-)
I *am* a kid with a new toy! :: grin ::
Tomorrow we are dropping one of my parents’ friends off at the airport, and in the afternoon we’re going to Shin Falls to see the salmon leap.
