Thien Hau Temple

Filed in Los Angeles, Travel

From the hotel we spotted an interesting looking building, and went to find it. It was the Thien Tau Temple, a beautiful and ornate structure with a strong sense of spirit around it–a warm kind of spirit, welcoming. An altar for burning incense was in front of it and every space seemed decorated in some way. As we explored, several people came and paid their respects…I found the place very peaceful and moving. It gave me a little breathing space in the city.

The temple is dedicated to the goddess Lin. I know it’s culturally different, but it really is a funny old world.
