The road to Belmont

Filed in Nevada 2006

The road to Belmont, a well preserved ghost town with one of the most remote historical markers, required a 50 miles detour. I had no idea whether there would be gas further up (as it turned out, there was, two stations at Carvers and one a bit further); it would make a good day trip out of Tonopah. Regretfully, I moved on but oh, did it call.

Overall though I’m glad to save it for later, as I was so tired when I got to Austin. This would have made it too long a day.

A sign by the cattle guard showed that a chap called Beers is running for state governor. His url is beers4nevada.com. That’s funny enough, but under the cattle guard here look what I found.
