The first ever A&W

Filed in Blog, Daily Photo
A&W hamburgers

This is the first ever A&W Hamburger, which is in Lodi. Don and I went here on my first ever visit to Lodi, before I even moved to the USA. It serves all the typical A&W junk food, the root beer floats and such (I refused to try one that time–my head couldn’t get around ice cream in a glass of soda). The interior is all full of memorabilia and old-fashioned merchandise.

They still have car hops–kids serving the food at a drive-in station on rollerskates. And every Thursday it’s vintage car night, a Lodi tradition. :)

This was the first fast food I’d had since before I moved up to Trinity County. I’m fond of those chili cheese fries, and as you can see my head is firmly around ice cream in a glass of soda. I now consider this to be a rare treat, not the norm. :)
