Thanksgiving part one
Filed in BlogThis was our first Thanksgiving in an RV, and years of toning it down from the feast it’s “supposed” to be to the feast that two people can handle have paid of great dividends. I have that warm glow that you get from two plates full of good food: everything but the dessert, which must be served later unless we are to explode. ;) I am on my second glass (plastic cup) of Ballatore Gran Spumante, which despite the name is a product of California. Fizzy sweet wine. Mmm.
Currently the leftovers, mostly the extras, are being tucked away into the fridge. We know what we’ll be eating tomorrow. ;)
I’ve had the loveliest day, doing something I never did before: spending hours going round as many Thursday Thirteeners as I could manage. I think I’ve visited about fifty people today, and it’s felt like visiting a bunch of friends, old and new. There are folks out there whose viewpoints are diametrically opposed to mine, yet there is this huge thread in common: warmth, and an enjoyment of their Thanksgiving Day (or Thursday Thirteen) in as many different ways as can be imagined. It’s been peaceful and mellow and I’ve had fun; I’ve felt part of a community. Isn’t it funny how “online” can often feel like “at home”?
Happy Thanksgiving, to those who are celebrating it. The cats were not best impressed with their “complete Thanksgiving Dinner in a can”, but we were quite happy with ours.
I should be ready for the pie round about ten in the evening. ;)
