American River bikeway
This cycle path goes on for miles and miles along the levees and banks of the American River. I was surprised to see how far — we were actually at some of these places before we went down to the Unconvention. I don’t think I could cycle five miles, at this time in my life. [...]
The dance
I love these trees! I don’t know what kind they are, but they looked like they were playing ring-a-ring-a-roses, with the shadows dancing behind them. It’s almost like there are several rows of dancers…
Inside the youth hostel
The youth hostel in Sacramento is a gorgeous old Victorian structure and even has its own plaque. My worst nightmare
I am afraid of house fires, and I am afraid of drops. Take a look at that fire escape. Makes me dizzy just to look at that thing.
Climbing a ladder

Federal door

Please Sir, can I have some more?
01 February 2009: Outside the modern courthouse near the Amtrak station, funky little characters tell the story of California’s Gold Rush. Maybe this is a depiction of the Indians finding gold for Sutter, but it still looks a bit like Oliver Twist to me. ;)
A shining silver horse
01 February 2009: The “silver” sculpture looks better from a distance than close up. It’s in the Chinatown area of Sacramento, not far from Old Town. There are rather a lot of plaques in this region. ;)
