A spot beside the river
There’s a little campground on the Parker Strip and it has our name on it. The smell of rotting vegetation is nothing compared to a cool breeze coming off the river.
Folsom Lake SRA
02 February 2009: And here we are post-convention, heading up to Folsom Lake SRA (this is where you cross the Sacramento River). We stayed there the night after Oroville, and then came back to stay a couple of nights. This allowed us to pick up a Datastorm antenna for our patience.
American River bikeway
This cycle path goes on for miles and miles along the levees and banks of the American River. I was surprised to see how far — we were actually at some of these places before we went down to the Unconvention. I don’t think I could cycle five miles, at this time in my life. [...]

And, since we’re here, this is a gratuitous photograph of the other direction. Isn’t it pretty?
Old fishery
As you get closer to the turn-off, you can see the old fishery works, a few buttresses and intriguing-looking old buildings. The current, state of the art facility was built later. The trees were all starting to turn gorgeous colors.
