Sidney Gulch
Filed in Blog, Daily Photo
Sidney Gulch is the little stream that runs through Weaverville. Many of the original miners of this town were from Australia, and the story goes that Sydney was the only town the namers of this stream had heard of in Australia. And, apparently, they had no idea how to spell it. ;)

Well, the Australians knew how to spell the city. It was the people of Weaverville who named it in their honor who couldn’t spell. *grin*
