A Stockton church, shadowed

Stockton church

The church I mentioned yesterday was a wonderful study in shadows and pattern. I took several pictures and decided to put them together in a photo essay.

Above, old windows with ornate frames are shadowed by trees. Below, a door has the same effect and a notice that made me smile: “Please lock this door with your key.” I wonder with what else one might lock a door?

Even the sidewalk was shadowed.

The building was ornate with columns and, of all things, cobras at the corners. The stained glass windows were huge, and through the several broken panels could be glimpsed the glorious colors on the other side.
