SFO to LHR
Filed in Britain 2004, TravelSo, as I now have a home base, I can update this. I did have a journal entry sketched out, but I can’t use it because I can’t use my screen. Not to worry.
We flew on a Boeng 777. Seemed awfully cramped though - getting in and out of the seat was a work of art, sort of like unfolding yourself. It was a nine hour flight and seemed awfully long. I did however finally figure out why I love taking off on a plane and on a motorcycle the same way. It feels much the same…eyeball-flattening acceleration. ;-)
I watched The Terminal and listened to the air traffic control channel and watched the map scroll across as we went. I didn’t get much sleep and the flight seemed rather long.
I did chat to my seat-mate a bit when we were coming down into London. He was a political science lecturer at UC Santa Cruz and about to do a weekend conference at Lancaster and Manchester Universities. I was a student at Lancaster, so we compared notes.
It was sunny above the clouds! Rather grey and rainy beneath ‘em.
So that was the flight. I’m sure there was more. :: shrug ::
