19/48 Seven Favorite Fruits
Filed in Blogathon 2007I need more seven-favorites please!
- Apples. Especially sour, crunchy ones. They make nice apple pie and apple crumble, of course.
- Canned peaches. I like them better than regular peaches. Go figure.
- Christmas satsumas. They come in those big boxes and I eat them like candy.
- Bananas. A great breakfast or a great dessert. (Try with milk and sugar/sweetener sometime.)
- Pineapple. I also love dried pineapple. Tart and juicy.
- Pears. They need to soften a bit and stop being woody.
- Strawberries. They’re not actually a favorite to eat, though I have my moments; however, the smell is absolutely exquisite, especially when cruising along on a bike.

Um, are the satsumas the same thing as clementines? Those easy-to-peel citrus fruits?

I also don’t know what satsumas are. Sound interesting. Hooray for pineapple! I’m also a big berry person: raspberries, strawberries, etc.

Marina–yay! I don’t have to think for myself for 3 more posts!
Buffra: yes, nangoes are nice, but not really something I buy.
Both: yes, those easy to peel tiny oranges that are really sweet.

Oh my kids LOVE Satsumas. We must buy 20 boxes at Christmas time. They can go through a box a day. They love them so much, they named their new computer I bought them at Christmas — Satsuma!

I’m not much of a fruit eater. It’s the one way that I’m a picky eater. Harriet though is quickly breaking me of my anti-fruit stance. See, she LOVES fruit and veg. Since fresh fruit and veg are the bulk of her meals I’ve been buying a wider variety and a great number of both than I would have in the past. Since she and I eat most of our meals together we end up sharing food. We are learning about all the bounty of our farmers’ market together.
