Sacramento is big
Filed in Blog, Daily Photo
As we walked–limped, really, it was a hot day and a longer stretch than we expected–alongside the river today, I noticed that we were back in Sacramento again. The cityscape stretched out beyond, all 281,100 people. This 1911 bridge spans the river and brings you back to Sacramento County again.

:-D More happy memories!
And my feet aren’t as sore as they were when we were walking.

Aaahhh! The city of my arrival into this world. It actually snowed there a little the day I was born, and my grandmother was driving my 18-year-old mother to the hospital, and they were sliding around. Poor grandma thought I might be born in the 1969 Pontiac Catalina. But I made it to the hospital and was the last baby delivered by a 80 year old doctor. Oh and I was almost named Sunshine Rainbow. :-)

P.S. There is a house there in Sacramento (my grandparents old house) that has my name and handprints in the cement driveway. I last visited there the summer I was 13 and I remember the heat. It got up to 110 I think, and I fried some eggs on the sidewalk and complained to my grandmother constantly that I was “dying.” We did our shopping at 6am to beat the heat and even then in her 50’s she always wore tube tops with no bra everywhere. Thank you for spurring on these memories tonight!
