This book brought back memories of when I was the passenger on hubby’s bike. He didn’t have a car at the time and to save money, we rode EVERYWHERE, in every kind of weather. I remember the ride from California’s Central Valley to San Fran. We left the house in tank top and shorts; it was 105 degrees. Battle the crosswinds along I-580; stopped at the top of the Altamont Pass; donned sweatpants, sweatshirts and jackets from the saddlebags; crossed the Bay Bridge and it was 55 degrees!!!
I’ve been in rain, fog and miserable 100 plus degrees. Glad we got that out of our system….er he bought a truck. No more numb butt on long rides. People along the roads are very friendly when they see you on a bike. You can get carpal tunnel from waving so much. I loved the rides into the Sierras, when you could almost reach out and touch the scenery. Yosemite is awesome by bike!
I am going to get this book for my girlfriend who bought her first bike at age 44 and travels all over the western US. Miss Moore - you are totally awesome!
