Photo of the Week: Sister

Filed in Photo of the Week

Sisters, Oregon is a kitschy upscale tourist town with a surprise. When I rode up highway 242 in July 2005, I wasn’t expecting this blasted wasteland at the top. This is an ancient lava flow, and the Sisters are in fact volcanoes. It looked exactly how I imagined Mordor to be. For dramatic effect, a squall of bitter high-altitude rain started up just as I reached the summit of McKenzie Pass.

Are you also posting the links to your photo on the Photo Friday site? It’ll pull traffic to your site (most people will view only the photo then click out, but some people will be intrigued and will poke around, if for nothing else then to see your other photos).

I messed up last week, but I’ve got the hang of linking now. So yes, I intend to. :-)
