Twinkle twinkle little star

Filed in Blog

This has got to be one of the coolest things ever.

Made by Uncle Miltons, the HomeStar Optical Planetarium is your own portable planetarium unit. 10,000 stars are projected onto your ceiling, complete with random comets. And for a gadget like this, it’s not even terribly expensive at $139 (a sale price).

If I had an actual house it is something I would consider. How soothing to be able to watch the night sky in a city where you’re lucky if you get to see Orion through all the street lights!

The device was designed Takayuki Ohira, recognized as the builder of the world’s most advance planetarium.

I have only been to a planetarium a time or two, though I’ve gazed at the night sky many times. This is an awesome gift for a budding astronomer or aging hippy. So cool!

Hey, I’m neither an astronomer nor a hippie and I think it’s pretty cool!
