Oh-kay
Filed in Motorcycle Road Trips, Ride-In 2005My upstairs “neighbour” is squeaking a lot.
This motel has free breakfasts, too. While holding a door open for a hippy type who was man-handling multiple cups of coffee and a bowl of cheerios, my hand slipped and I made him spill the lot. I was absolutely mortified. :: sigh :: I went and hand=delivered another bowl of cheerios. Not long after the cheerio destruction was discovered by the manager and hoovered up.
Three separate groups of bikers showed up overnight. I chatted to the BMW couple as they set out, wrinkling their noses. They were going back to Pleasanton. I didn’t have to ride in the rain, so I chose not to. The closest this place is to a town of any size is about 90 miles. The tourist information lists the towns where fuel can be found. I don’t think I’ve ever been in such an isolated place before, and it’s really nice.
The group of four men - two very loud Harleys and two Japanese - left next.
I talked to Craig and Lynne in the breakfast room. They were towing their V-star and using it to explore. This way, they could bring their dogs along. They were neat people, heading back to Colorado the long way.
I also talked to an unusual guy who went to church so he could meet large numbers of the locals and get to know them. He also had a list of animals that he wanted to hunt, shoot, and stuff/frame. Rattlesnake was on his list. He was almost giggly at the prospect of going rattler-hunting with his friends.
