Nevada Magazine
Filed in BlogI admit to being biased, seeing as how I’m a subscriber and about to be published in its next issue. But I figured I’d spend a moment or two telling you about Nevada Magazine.
The magazine has one goal: to show people how cool Nevada is and to encourage tourism in the silver state. For all its lonely wildness, Nevada is a fantastic place: a ghost-town hunter’s and gambler’s paradise with vast quantities of soul-soothing wilderness in between.
| I only skimmed the surface of Nevada during my 2006 jaunt to find historical markers, and if I had the kind of bike that deals well with dirt (and more experience under my belt) there are thousands of back roads leading to exciting places that barely anybody ever visits. |
There used to be more in-depth articles, which I admit to enjoying more, but these days there’s a wider smattering of smaller articles which give a taster of the activity or place being described, as well as many snippets with news of exhibitions, museums and events, so more is covered. The writing is consistently good and the photographs are absolutely glorious: I like going to their website just to get a fix of the wilderness. I look forward to receiving my copy every two months.
So there you go. If you’re heading to Nevada or just like the desert, this is a great publication to pick up. And it has a listing of “events coming up” in the back, so you can attend a rodeo or a cookout or whatever tickles your fancy.

I’d be happy to pass on a couple of my back issues if you’d like?
