NaNoWriMo Day 24
Filed in NaNoWriMo2007No, I haven’t given up. I have felt the urge to cheat outrageously, mind you, but that’s what I’m led to believe NaNo is for: letting go of control and playing outside the limitations of normal rule sets. At least, that’s if Chris Baty is to be believed. :)
So, I cheated my way through seven thousand words, and have promised myself that should I exceed 50k any time soon, I will reduce the number of cheaty words by a suitable equivalent. :: grin ::
So anyway, I am about 600 words ahead as of yesterday, which means I am 1000 words behind as of today, and thus when I sit down to write a bit later I will be on track within about thirty minutes. After getting rid of my pesky backlog I felt a whole lot better but it’s now time to start exceeding the daily goal so I can finish on the 29th or earlier. I don’t trust the site to be up and running on the 30th. The plot started getting all frisky on me and I now know how this story ends and have a lovely twist to be going on with. What a buzz I get when that happens! Writing is one of life’s great joys. :)
How’s it going for you?

I’m at 42,000 and I just starting today’s writing. I don’t know if I’ll get any writing done tomorrow because we’ll be driving all day.
Good luck!

Hee. I feel good about what I have written, but it is still woefully behind. (Like, under 30,000!) But, I have such a flexible job schedule and have had no trouble churning out 5,000 and 6,000 word days, so I’m still hopeful.
