NaNoWriMo Day Two
Filed in NaNoWriMo2007I started writing a fantasy novel at midnight on the first of November. By about ten minutes in I realized that I hated it, and started writing about a vampire biker chick instead. I guess it’s going to be some kind of romance. I have no idea what the plot is, or where we’re going, but this story is writing itself.
I just am not into fantasy any more, though I reserve the right to write two novels alongside each other. At the write-in we were discussing ways to do that. Perhaps the vampire nanowrimo participant could be writing the fantasy. About halfway through I could put “and this is what she wrote.” Maybe this is a way of fooling my innter editor who is much louder with the fantasy than it is with the vampire. I can feel myself straining not to write words like “heaving bosom” or “buxom wench.” Go on, I dare you, says the inner editor. It’s lying in wait, ready to tell me just what it thinks about that.
I have managed to write a little over the “minimum” word count each day. Oh, that reminds me, I need to upload my word count again today. It took me forever to figure out where to do that on the site.
