Rancho Tehama and Orland Buttes campground
Filed in Blog, RVingSo we spent an interesting hour looking around Rancho Tehama. There are dozens of plots of land for sale, some with houses and some without. It looks as though the place is expanding hugely or some statute of limitations ran out for not selling land. Either way, there are plots of land that would potentially work for what we want, but not without finding out more about the region, planning permissions, and other hidden costs.
It was quite late when we got out onto the highway again and headed south–almost sunset as we pulled in at Orland Buttes campground, another Corps of Engineers creation that immediately reminded us of New Hogan Reservoir. It was a small place so we picked out a site and were pleased to find a nice stack of deadwood left for burning. Good! I built up a very nice fire and we had a nice pie beside it while watching Cassiopeia and a million other constellations make their way through the sky.
It would appear that I have qualified as a cavewoman. ;)
