Mount LassenJuly 7, 2009
Mount Lassen dominates the landscape around Lassen National Volcanic Park.

Mount Lassen is in the region of ten a half thousand feet high, and is the heart of its own national park. It’s easy to see why. Everywhere you look in this area, the mountain, clad in snow which won’t start to fade until July, dominates. This shot was the summit of my Spatter Cones trail walk, and the view they tell you to look for once you hit the more-or-less summit. It’s quite unworldly.

I was thinking of you the other day as I input Alabama’s counties for the Markeroni maps :)
I love mountains too, but the ocean is where my heart is. :)

That’s one of my mountains. :)
The exact height of Lassen is the highest I have ever been in my life, as I’ve summited it once. One of these days, I’m going to have to do it again. Just gotta get some walking in first.

That is beautiful! Mountains are very impressive to me, we don’t have any.
