Moo Moo’s Burger Barn

Moo Moo’s Burger Barn is a small local chain with three restaurants in Lodi and Stockton (we went to the Trinity Parkway location, which is off I-5 at the Eight Mile Road exit).
Encouraged inside by my mild obsession with cows, this place didn’t disappoint: The decor was akin to walking into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and to my delight, the menu was stuffed with cow-type puns. Even the salt and pepper shakers were little cows!
While the main offering is of course burgers–including some wacky ones including such ingredients as blue cheese, teriyaki and chili–there are also a sprinkling of sandwiches, salads and a token veggieburger. You can get shakes, too, and there’s a kids’ menu. Unusually, fries are not served as part of the meal, but that turned out to be a good thing because the burgers were pretty large and filling. I ordered the Hula Moo, a barbecue/Hawaiian burger with pineapple; Don had something more American–a Classic Moo, perhaps. The fruit made the Hula Moo’s bun rather soggy, but the flavor was good and cooked as ordered.
Pricing was in the $7-$10 range so a fairly standard diner-style burger. All in all if you want a nice big burger and an hour well-spent in a funky little restaurant, you could do a lot worse than Moo Moo’s.

Sounds like my kind of place! I hadn’t known that you have a cow obsession.

I love the booths! Cow stuff always cracks me up. We used to have a Pig Stand here (close to downtown and shown in the movie “The Evening Star”) with a huge collection of pigs, but it’s closed now.

Even the seating looks like they a cow freshly turned into leather seating. And the Hula Moo sounds like something I could do with.

Miss-E: It started with watching Twister where the same cow goes round and round the twister. And it um, spiralled on from there. ;)
