I cut myself on my upper cheek once while changing a light bulb. The blood must have splashed or something like that because it was running down my face by my eye. I felt no pain at all at first (shock I suppose) but I immediately thought that my eye HAD come out. It was scary and the moments until I discovered what happened (with the aid of paper towels & a mirror) seemed to go in slow motion.

The story of how this man lost his leg will at least be a very interesting one to tell…..that is the only positive thing I can think of besides the fact that he is still alive.

Oh and i forget to say “Ouch!” I have never had any major accidents while riding (touch wood) but it is scary learning about how the the human body reacts to shock.

And again, bb–indeed! I know his friend got the leg but it’s so sad that it couldn’t be reattached.

Hello Vespa: the feed still isn’t coming up in search, but your posts are. I’ve contacted support to see what’s to be done about it. And yes…ouch indeed!

I dunno, John. I’ve heard about this kind of thing before…shock delays pain for a while and pretty much turns the thinking brain off. It’s utterly bizarre, though.
