Leavin’ Texas

Filed in Landmark-Hunting, Motorcycle Road Trips, Raven's Roads 2005

Well, tomorrow I will leave Texas, and I know I will be back. I have enjoyed every minute of my stay, not written about it enough, though I’m trying: the time has been very full and has whirled by in about ten seconds flat.

I have snagged countless landmarks, including one about state archives that were stolen and buried to keep them out of the hands of the dastardly rivals.

I have seen my first thicket of markers - about a dozen spread in a small pretty park.

I have renewed old friendships and made new ones, and put faces to names and hugs.

It has been a good time, and tomorrow I return to New Mexico and my motorcycle, if it has not been snowed over or stolen by cats, and I guess I will be back on the road sometime around the weekend.
