Irony

Filed in Blog

I find this news article rather ironic.

You see, they state that water has been restored to these homes. “Mains water has been restored to all 140,000 homes in Gloucestershire which lost supplies in the recent floods, Severn Trent has said.” (BBC News article.)

These homes have suffered the worst flooding in sixty years. They are knee deep in water.

And in between the sadness at what has gone on, and the appalling pictures of places I have been (Tewkesbury, Evesham), the first thing that perversely springs to mind is that old nursery rhyme, Doctor Foster went to Gloucester, in the pouring rain…

:: sigh ::

Our weather systems are really, really messed up.
