The blogosphere is full of wonderful sites in which people talk about their adventures. These adventures can be of the mind, the body, or of the spirit. The White Raven Award is for all the lovely people out there who, in some way or another, interweave their personalities with their blogs and create a site worth reading.
I started this award as a way to thank people for blogging so beautifully. It sounds obvious, I know, but each time we follow a link it’s like Alice down the rabbit hole–we don’t know what we’ll find, but it will probably be wonderland. Everyone we meet has something to teach us because we all, ultimately, dance the same threads. We are all connected in some way. The White Raven Award is a simple icon-shaped compliment. If yours is a blog I would recommend to others, it can earn the award. I know how wonderful and empowering it can be to receive a compliment, and even though the (obviously!) subjective award decisions of someone you don’t know from Eve may not mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things, if getting the award/compliment makes you smile, it’s done its job! Here’s how to take part.
What am I looking for? Well—I have eclectic tastes, so no one particular topic! I will be looking at design, writing style, originality of content, and personality. Personality can make even a dry business topic an entertaining read! If you engage in anything exploitative, illegal, prejudicial or just plain nasty, however, just don’t bother. Also, if your blog is closed except to members, that won’t do either. So what are you waiting for? Nominate yourself and/or someone else now! Preventative and very obvious disclaimer: the White Raven Award has got nothing to do with the mystery award of similar name and reverse color. I am not a mystery writer, nor do I play one on TV. This line included because America is ridiculously litiginous and I mean no harm. |
