In the heavens
Filed in Britain 2005 (1), TravelAnd I don’t just mean that I’m flying!
I’m sitting here listening to Venus Hum, one of my current favourites (thanks, Blue Man Group) :-). I had an aisle seat, and now I have two seats all to myself because it’s a lightly populated flight. So, we’re about 370 miles away from SFO, flying over Summer Lake, Spanish Peak (I think this is northeastern California, but I’m not sure)…I have my tunes, my laptop, and my lunch is here. (Heh, special diets get theirs first. ;-)
I’m going to be able to sleep, stretch, relax, and it’s like being in first class without paying through the news. I am a very lucky international traveller. ;-)
(A while later)
I love listening to the air traffic control channel…I know we’re in a 40 mile band of “chop” - before everyone else does. We’re communicating with Seattle, and are bouncing merrily, and are getting direct routing to Kansas City. What *fun*.
