I want more of this in 2009

This is Lockeford sausage. One of the annoying events mentioned yesterday led us to this location. (I’m going to cut this now to spare the vegetarians further offence.)
Lockeford is a historic town in San Joaquin County. On our quest for a welder to weld our broken generator manifold, we ended up out here and paid the place a visit.
Inside, it’s a classic old-fashioned butcher’s shop, the likes of which I hadn’t seen for years. The wares are all in a glass-fronted cabinet. I asked for recommendations and came out with three types: A german-style sauce, an apple sausage, and an English banger.

All three were delicious, but the best of all was the apple sausage, with which I will be stocking my freezer once we get down to Sacramento for the Markeroni Unconvention in late January.

That’s a drunk cow who’s climbed up a lamppost and is about to jump off it thinking that its a diving board and there’s a pool down below.
Mmm. I love sausage but you can’t get it here.
I’m not sure cows are capable of such complex thought processes. ;)
Maybe when you get back to the States. :)
