Hummingbird

Hummingbird

I went on a walk at the Cosumnes River Preserve about a month ago. Then I came back to the visitor center to watch the hummingbirds. Just as I lined up a shot of one sipping at the feeder, another dive bombed it and this is what was in my shot as I clicked the shutter.

I got really, really lucky. :)

    Beautiful creature!

  • This is an incredible capture.

  • Wonderful shot! Reminds me of the song “Hummingbird” by Wilco.

  • Great picture!

  • Whoa! That’s neat. Shooting on the fly now :)

  • Wow, you are very lucky to have gotten this picture. Hummingbirds are so beautiful and it is so neat to watch them “hover”. I used to have a feeder on my patio and they’d come right up to the window.

  • Thank you for visiting, Minkydo! Yup, absolutely enchanting. :)

  • Thanks Rayne. I definitely got very lucky :)

  • Hi Meg! I don’t know that song, but I’m glad you like the picture. :)

  • Thank you Patty!

  • *grin* @ Ling Indeed!

  • Wow. Great shot!

  • As an amateur photographer, (yes, I like to remember my trips too) I can appreciate this picture of the humming bird, because I can see the wings pretty clearly in the photograph.
The pictures I’ve taken have more or less always shown the wings as a blur.
Great picture of a beautiful little creature. Dave

  • Wow, nice pic. Way to go!
