Goodbye: we loved you
Filed in BlogOn Monday, October 15 we closed escrow on our home, which will now be removed from the mobile home park and demolished.
We’d been trying to get an appointment with the escrow company for a few days but it had been hard to coordinate between their availability and my availability from work not to mention the trips to storage in Stockton. It was supposed to be a twenty minute thing, but it ended up being about three hours, and here’s why.
The escrow officer was a biker. And had been a computer tinkerer. And was a philosopher, historian, a thinking person and a self-published author. Sound familiar? We had a great conversation which spanned Elizabethan history, Stonehenge, reusable materials, religious belief, how one goes about picking out an RV, and early computer technologies. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
What could have been a sad, cursory end to a very long chapter was a positive, fun experience that promises more of the same for the future.
And so we said goodbye to our home, and the doors closed on one chapter, and a new door opened. We don’t know where it will lead. But it won’t be boring.
Goodbye, home. We loved you.

Thanks Robin. :)
It’s been good to write it out…I find that helps me leave things behind.
