Cormorants

I was surprised to find cormorants perched nonchalantly on the works, but an interpretive sign said that they indeed are common around here. I always thought they were just sea birds, and we’re a little over a hundred miles from the sea.

They’re tourists, or maybe they got lost, and one of em is telling the other one they shouldn’t have taken that air corridor back there. :)
