On Thanksgiving I spent a bunch more time than usual surfing the Thursday Thirteens, and came up with some lovely surprises. This one in particular by Scottish blogger “Lives Less Ordinary” caught my eye. Amy lists thirteen steps towards making your dreams come true, and I agree with them all. “Forgiveness” in particular rings bells, as it’s important to stop kicking yourself for opportunities missed and to learn from them–always moving forward. It’s long, so don’t read this when you’re in a hurry.
Frugal blog Wise Bread has twenty-five things to do with old jeans, which is 50% of my wardrobe. ;) I can’t reply on this blog–the captchas don’t show for me–but it’s an interesting blog about being frugal and decadent (well, not living without, anyway). :)
History is Elementary (home-schoolers, bookmark this site!) has a historically accurate article about how Thanksgiving came to be. There are lots of myths and inaccuracies, and they get busted.
Much of Buck Naked Politics goes way above my head. This post about social security, however, was an eye-opener and interesting too. (Actually it’s all interesting and very well written. Like I said, the lack of understanding lies in my court.)
Around the Island wonders what she would receive with The Nut of the Month Club. I laughed. A lot.
And, for those of you with kids, Reid Elizabeth has thirteen book recommendations in honor of Canadian Book Week.
