Charleston Gates

Filed in BX Convention 2007

There is exquisite ironwork all around Charleston. Gates, “windows”, balconies. I’ve heard that there’s a kind of tradition that if the gate stands open, you're able to go in and explore the gardens, which are often fantastically beautiful. In fact, I believe it's Easter when they have the Big Event–garden tours. They’re quite pricey, but having explored I think they might just be worth the price of admission.

The last one is my favorite, and was created by a master craftsman whose name I would have to look up, but who is still alive.
