Well, I’m up. “Awake” would be too strong a word for it. ;)
As might be expected, I’m rather wrecked. :: grin :: I will take care of all link exchanges, prize draws, outstanding comments and “business” tomorrow, when I’ve had a chance to recover. I can’t actually think too straight right now, so I’m going to turn the computer off and relax in the sunshine.
What a blast, eh?
Thank you and good night.
It’s ben great. ((((((((((((((( hugs )))))))))))))))

we raised $205 tonight.
But not just that–my cheerleaders and fellow blogathonners rock, too. :-)
Yay for Buffra, Marina, Polli, bobbarama, beautyredefined, Phelan, AL17 and everyone else who cheered me on and whose name I am too exhausted to remember.
The sky’s getting light. A solo bird is chirping and my cat is sticking her head out the window, wanting to eat it.
I will be asleep in less than five minutes. :-P
WOOT! A “best post” was featured on the home page of the Blogathon!
I’m reduce to bleary-eyed limping through the blogosphere, trying to keep myself awake for thirty more minutes.
It’s quiet, and there’s a distinct air of “as soon as my head hits the pillow I shall be snoring.”
I have actually not drunk much caffeine, and zero soda. Lots of water. I think I had three decaf coffees over the day, and just one cup of tea. The chocolate has given me acid indigestion, alas. I guess that’s a lesson in the changing of one’s body tolerances. Of course, staying up 24 hours stretches those to the limit.
Well I can do it. Success is a given. The time has gone by so very quickly.
The rest of the comments will have to wait until tomorrow, or even Monday, to give my body a rest. I will need some sunshine and fresh air tomorrow.
OK, time to put this out there.
Looks like I should have started with post #1 at 06:30 yesterday, not at 06:00. I’m going to end up with 49 posts.
Well, no biggie. It’s all good.
I just finished reading the book about blogs. And I’m looking around for nice WordPress themes. Simple stuff that doesn’t require much brain. Which is good because my brain is missing. It has gone off to play with the hedgehogs.
I am hanging in there to the bitter end, but I really have nothing further to say tonight. ;)
only….one…more…hour…to…go.
Felipe is my fourth (and final) sponsor child. I did once have a fifth, but his mom packed the kids up, upped and left the town and the program.
Felipe lives in Brazil in one of the shanty towns. (more…)
But before I post those, here’s something neat: I have been tagging most of my posts (until recently when my brain stopped working) with Technorati subject tags. One of them was for Whitby and because of it I got an email from the guy who launched the Dracula in Whitby site.
I love all this interconnectedness! :)
And now, dessert.
Ditaya is 15 now. She lives in a refugee camp in Zambia. I believe that she’s originally from Congo.
Life in the refugee camp sucks. Twice they’ve had people steal everything, which isn’t much, that they own–even their clothes. The programs there revolve around getting these people back to normal, keeping the kids in school, and letting the kids be kids instead of adults with the cares of the world.
I’m very, very tired. I’m definitely going to need a cat-nap.
Don has retired for the night. I’ll be along in…oh, a little under 4 hours. ;)
I’m just thinking that this has been a wonderful experience so far. Despite the fact that I am fading into the background, it’s been awesome to be part of something like this. I’m glad I let common sense be secondary to intuition.
Among other things, I feel very privileged to have friends who’d stay up this late for me, and writing about my travels and homes has brought it home to me how lucky I am. I’m lucky to have had family who loved to travel, and that this rubbed off. I’m lucky to live in a world where it’s possible to travel, because frankly, travel rocks my world.
I raise a virtual glass to you all. :)
PS I think I’ve missed responding to some comments–I will go through them after I’ve slept, and post answers to any I think I’ve missed. :)
