Oh dear!

This SO reminds me. I house-sat for friends once, to watch their dachshunds. Well, it turned out that they also had showcats. Cornish Rex showcats, to be specific. Downstairs. And one of the cats was VERY pregnant, due any day. And each kitten was worth several hundred dollars.

I was a nervous wreck, hoping they would come home before the cat decided to pop -- and the poor thing had to stay in her (very large) cage almost the whole time, because I didn't want her finding a hiding place to give birth without anyone knowing. (I did put a cover over the cage, so she felt more protected/enclosed when it was near time.)

Thank goodness, the pair arrived home just hours before she gave birth and all was well.
