Evening on Brannan Island

In the evening I set out for another walk. This time I picked up the cycle path round about where I’d left off, i.e. at the visitor center, and went to see where it was. The entire time, I saw a grand total of one cyclist and no other walkers. I guess in season it’s busier around here, but it was delightfully quiet when I went there.
At the start of the path was a swathe of this golden bush, reminiscent of gorse.

Here’s the corral where the dumpsters go when they go to bed at night.

This Siamese cat looked distinctly guilty when I spotted it and got my camera out. It reminds me a lot of Speedy.

The path opened out more, and I started to see jackrabbits. (There’s one in this shot, but you quite possibly can’t tell.)

So, here are a couple of cropped shots where you can tell.

The thing about walking is that you’re always being observed by something.
After a little copse of woods, the path came out near the water area where people launch their boats and go fishing. I was quite tired by then, so I just headed back without taking many more pictures. Walking, finally, allowed me to detox and get on with the fine business of relaxation.
