Borrowing a laptop

Filed in Nevada 2006

There’s wireless in the lobby. I can’t connect to it. OTOH, the young woman who’s running the office has loaned me her computer. So I don’t know what’s going on. It’s irritating that I can’t get online when there’s obviously a perfectly good connection down here.

I do like Jackpot. It has a good vibe to it. I found the snarf, even though it has no resemblance to the location in the book. The weather is schizophrenic though. One minute it’s 88F according to the casino, and the next rain is falling out of the sky–thin rain, from a blue sky, rain that doesn’t refresh (and, fortunately, turn things to mud).

I will try to connect tomorrow, maybe at a truck stop for an hour. I have posts to send and pictures to show.
