Are you a blogging biker?
Filed in Blog, Motorcycling
I’ve been looking around, and I can’t find any blogrolls for bikers. Therefore, I’ve started two. (Obviously, one is never enough.)
Shared blogrolls allow you to be part of a group of sites linked by a particular theme. Memes such as Thursday Thirteen run a blogroll, and I thought it was a pretty neat idea. While I don’t think that Technorati counts such blogrolls (they are run from a bit of javascript you place on your page), I’m more interested in making it easy for riders to find one another through their blogs.
You can join one, or both these blogrolls, depending on your gender. For rules, information, etc. check out the hub pages (linked to in the graphics above). I don’t care what kind of bike, trike or scooter you ride, or whether you’re on front or back. Enjoy!
(As for my own personal blogroll, if you read this blog and/or comment on it, let me know and we can probably trade links.)

Sure, would love to join. But my blog isn’t always about riding ;)
Oh, I keep forgeting that the address I have for you might not be any good. I haven’t been online much since the blogathon, so, e-mail me please and I will get that journal out to you.

I haven’t ridden a motorcycle in about 6 years. I had to sell mine before I moved to Canada several years ago and now I miss her.
But all that will probably change once this show I’m writing for gets off the ground. We’re taking two women apprentices and teaching them how to build choppers from scratch and ride them. I was thinking it might be a great multi-platform idea to have the women blogging about their experience on the show and building bikes. Would you and your fans read something like that?

Do you ever post about bikes? If so, then you’d be fine. Let me know :)

Awww. I had to leave my Katie behind in England when I moved here, too. Luckily I already had Arnie, but still, I mourned that bike. I hope you get up and running soon.
I think that the blog idea is great. Could you get them to join the blogroll? *grin* It would give some mutual exposure–hopefully it will be bigger by then. I could also mention it in the forums I attend, do a write-up, whatever. Let me know.

You’re welcome! Although actually, you’re on my friends/blogs I read blogroll, not the biker one :)
I tried to email you back but the mail bounced back as rejected. :(

Linda,
I should specify… I’m the writer on the show, not the producer. But he’s pretty open to suggestions and is definitely going multi-platform. I think it’s a great idea and one of our broadcasters has been asking how we’re going to attract more women to the show. I think this would help. There are so many women bloggers out there. Guess we like to talk.
We start filming the show in January.

OC: Oh, I know. But whenever faced with intruging creative ideas I go into automatic brainstorm mode. ;)

My blog is all about riding - but not more about scooters more than general motorbikes. Would that be a problem?

As far as I’m concerned, so long as you ride something with two (or in the case of trikes, three!) wheels, it’s all good. I wave to everyone, sometimes even bicyclists!
So, you’re absolutely welcome. :)
If you come back to this post, click through on the Blogging Bikers icon, and you’ll be able to find the code to add to your site as well as the instructions (put the code on your site, get back to me, when I see it I’ll add you.)
I’m afraid there aren’t many of us yet…but that’ll change, I’m sure. :)
