Beastie and I

Filed in Motorcycling

Beastie and I have been together for a year now. We didn’t quite manage our 10,000 miles, but we are not that far off.

Coming back from the gym, I had a lovely ride. There was snow on the mountains, which around here is rare, and was very pretty with the sun shining on it. A large gray rain cloud threatened, but loosed only a couple of droplets as I rode along the network of Expressways that is my usual gym route. Weather can be so lovely sometimes, even if not always in the classic sense. A great big bank of cloud can be an impressive thing.

I haven’t been in my happy place for a while, but today I got there. Traffic was light, the riding went smoothly and without hassle. It was just plain joy. Sort of spoiled things a little when I noticed how surrounded in smoke I was from the oil leak dripping onto hot pipes, though. I parked up at the post office and wished I had a few cups of water to calm things down a bit. ;-)

Well, I must be some kind of rain goddess. ;-) For the five or ten minutes I was indoors, it absolutely threw it down with rain. By the time I got finished, the rain stopped, and my pipes were no longer smoking. I had towel to wipe down my seat, and then was off on my way, arriving home under the curve of a beautiful rainbow.
