Balloon across the moon

Filed in Blog

Wasn’t there a song once, Clouds across the Moon? The other night, returning from yet another trip to the storage shed, a lone helium balloon drifted across the waxing moon.

We stopped by a place that sells RVs for cheap. They also let us spend three hours there looking in everything, without bugging us with stupid sales guff. Don took a long hard look at almost every rig, and I flitted in and out waiting for one to sing to me. Combined, both methods will ultimately lead to the right choice.

The one I really liked turned out to be twice as much as we were planning on spending, but it was the only one I could really imagine living in. I’m used to having my own space, to spending hours alone-but-not-alone: each in our own separate den. There would be no such luxury in an RV. The RV above at least offered two separate alcoves, each with a table. But in my current state of mind I look at the RVs and think, how can I possibly live with so little space? There’s just no room for luxuries and extra stuff unless we get a humongoid class A RV (the bus-shaped one).

And I can’t imagine ever driving something that big. I can sort of imagine learning to drive a smaller class C. But the Class As are intimidatingly large.

I don’t know what I want, really, other than to not be losing my home as of a week on Monday.

Ack! Moving in a week. I hope you find an RV that works for you. I think it’ll be a great adventure, but it might take some getting used to. You’ll figure out a way to fit in the space, though. You’re a resourceful chick. :)

It’s interesting, but these weeks without stuff have taught me how little I actually need around me. I’d be lost without the web, but the rest of it is not needed at all. We’ll manage.
