Austin Airport

Filed in Motorcycle Road Trips, Raven's Roads 2005

Well, here I am again, at the airport. In a little over an hour I’ll be flying back to Albuquerque. They seem to be getting forecasts of thunderstorms for around the time I want to leave, so we’ll see. I’m not in any hurry to set out.

The last few days - the convention, then major snarfari with Marina (if we didn’t get a hundred snarfs I’ll be very very surprised - we even found a park with a thicket of markers, at least a dozen) have been quite a whirlwind. We’re both pretty knackered and looking forward to quiet time. For Marina that will be time online and time snuggling with her cats and dogs; for me that’ll be time online and time snuggling with Oakwoman’s cats and dogs. ;-)

It’s been fantastic. I’m behind with my write-ups, which is another reason why I need some catch up time. I’ve discovered that my writing suffers if I don’t grab the experiences while they’re fresh.

This morning I saw a truck with “The Best Little Car House in Texas” painted on the side. That’s the kind of thing I mean.

I need to tip the entire contents of my saddlebags out onto a large flat surface and see what I am, and am not taking back.

I think that this area of Texas, the Hill County, is really beautiful, but I don’t think I’ll do well if I come back in the summer when the humidity is high. Sure would like to check it out in the spring again, though.

I love having wireless.
